Code runs it from the eave edge to 24 in inside the exterior wall, measured level — counted here from the wall's inside face, as Owens Corning requires. With a 12-in overhang and 6-in wall at 6/12 that is 47 in up the slope → 2 courses of 36-in membrane. Valleys get one 36-in strip centered on the valley line.
Exhaust 644 sq in → 36 ft of ridge vent at 18 sq in per ft. Intake 644 sq in → 72 ft of continuous soffit vent or 12 16×8 vents. Intake should match or beat exhaust; if your attic qualifies for 1/300 (balanced vents, plus a vapor retarder in climate zones 6–8), halve these.

1,500 sq ft ÷ 100 = 15 squares. Add waste — 5% for a gable this size or 11% for a hip, from CertainTeed's Shingle Applicator's Manual — then divide by the coverage per bundle: 1,500 × 1.05 ÷ 32.8 = 48, rounded up to 49 bundles.
If your 1,500 sq ft is the house's floor area rather than a measured roof area, the roof is bigger: add the overhangs and multiply by the pitch factor (1.118 at 6/12). Switch the calculator to "House footprint" to do that.
